Disregard for effectiveness and outcomes is an equal opportunity discipline, so I was (rightly) chided for an earlier post implying FATFs studious indifference alone. (“This is Bob”). Other agencies evidently take similar pride in dogmatic adherence to rules absent much perceptible concern for effectiveness. But FinCEN’s actions – which often mirror, and, as noted in the following graphic, sometimes surpass, FATF’s studied disdain for meaningful anti-crime outcomes –  deserve special mention.
